Hypothyroidism Hair Loss

Hypothyroidism hair loss : am I loosing my hair because of my thyroid gland ?

It is possible.  Thyroid hormones are very important for the body’s metabolism and plays a key role in absorbing the nutrients. You may have hypothyroidism (when the thyroid gland is not producing enough) and not even know it ! There are many symptoms associated to this condition, and one of them is hair loss.

These hormones will effect your hair in many ways, generally affecting the texture first, becoming thinner and dryer and then falling out by chunks.

Hair loss and all symptoms of hypothyroidism can be treated effectively. Depending on the severity of your condition, you may have to take a drug or a simple supplement to restore the gland function.

Sometimes, it is the thyroid hormone replacement drugs that causes the hair to fall out. A hair loss product found on the market applied to the hair and that nourishes the hair root can be advised.
